When Jesus Christ is at the heart of a marriage, your love is strengthened by His grace. He accompanies you through the joys and challenges of married life and teaches you to love with patience, compassion, faithfulness, and selflessness. Through the Sacrament of Matrimony, your marriage becomes a beautiful sign of Christ’s enduring love.
We Are Here to Walk with You
Preparing for marriage is an important part of preparing for your life together. Our parish family is happy to accompany you during this special time and help you prepare not only for your wedding day, but for the lifelong vocation of marriage.
Because this preparation takes time, we kindly ask you to contact the parish preferably nine (9) months, but no less than six (6) months before your desired wedding date.
Your first step will be an initial meeting with a priest of the parish. Both the bride and groom should be present for this meeting.
During this first meeting, we will have the opportunity to get to know you as a couple, hear about your journey together, and discuss your hopes for your marriage. We will also explain the marriage preparation program and review the documentation and requirements of both the Catholic Church and the State.
Our goal is to make this process as welcoming, meaningful, and straightforward as possible. Please do not hesitate to ask questions along the way. We are here to help you.
Baptismal Certificates
As part of your marriage preparation, we will need an updated Baptismal Certificate for both the bride and groom. Each certificate must have been issued no more than six (6) months before your initial meeting. You may request this certificate from the parish where you were baptized.
Your Gift to the Parish
Our beautiful, newly renovated church is cared for through the generosity of our parishioners and those who come to celebrate important moments within our parish community.
If you do not live within our parish boundaries, you may have chosen St. Kieran’s because of the beauty and peaceful atmosphere of our church. We are grateful that you have chosen to celebrate this sacred moment with us.
Your wedding donation helps us care for and maintain our church and facilities while also supporting the continuing mission and ministry of our parish.
We ask for a donation of $1,500 or more for the use of the church facilities.
A non-refundable deposit of $150 is required before we can schedule your initial appointment.
Making Your Wedding Day Special
If you would like to celebrate your wedding with a more solemn ceremony, including a procession, music, and rehearsal, our St. Kieran’s Marriage Coordinator will be happy to assist you.
The coordinator will help you prepare the details of your ceremony and guide you through the rehearsal so that you can feel comfortable and confident as you approach your wedding day.
The Wedding Coordinator/Rehearsal Fee is $200 and is paid separately from the church wedding donation.
Music for Your Wedding
Music is an important part of the liturgy for our celebration and helps create a prayerful and joyful atmosphere for the Sacrament of Matrimony.
All wedding music is arranged through St. Kieran’s Parish. A $400 donation is requested for the basic music package, which includes one vocalist and one instrumentalist.
If you would like to include additional musicians, the donation is $200 for each additional musician.
Please note that the wedding music donation is separate from and not included in the church wedding donation.
Reception Information
Please be aware that reception facilities are not available at St. Kieran’s Parish. Couples will need to make separate arrangements for their wedding reception.
We Are Happy to Celebrate with You
We know that planning a wedding can be both exciting and overwhelming. Our hope is that your preparation at St. Kieran’s will be more than simply completing requirements. We want it to be a meaningful opportunity for you to pause, pray, reflect on your vocation, and prepare your hearts for the beautiful life you are about to begin together.
We look forward to getting to know you, praying with you, see you at the celebration of Sunday Mass and accompanying you as you prepare to say “yes” to one another and “yes” to God’s plan for your marriage.
May the Lord bless your love, guide you throughout your preparation, and fill your future home with faith, joy, peace, and His abundant grace.
Congratulations, and welcome to St. Kieran’s!
